Emma Kate lived the first 38 years of her life living a paradox. On the one hand, she failed to fully understand the driving force that caused her to self-destruct again and again. A failed marriage that was full of manipulation, control and violence, a second that was even more violent. She was a trier. She was changing others through her vocation, but she felt a fraud, as she perceived she was failing to change herself.

The death of her first husband, the much-loved father of her beloved son Charles, motivated her to discover the roots of her problems and begin the healing process. This dramatic change of outlook in her life was met with great resistance. Her approach to helping thousands of families facing the same jeopardy transformed her as the founder of I Can See No Way and creator of Authenticity Transformational Programme. Her clients can be seen everywhere. We are everywhere. From senior police officers to teachers to social workers. To barristers, bankers solicitors, and bartenders. To prisoners to the homeless to those seeking support in refuges and safe houses. They are male, they are female, from diverse backgrounds. We are everywhere.

In 2014, her clients, all women who had endured domestic violence suggested they write to the Prime Minister and the Queen to request she be recognized in the Queen’s Birthday honors. The very next week, she was fired. She’d crossed the bureaucratic boundary; she’d made a scene. It’s in those moments when people’s heads go under the parapet that Emma Kate’s rises high above it. Finally she can see a way, and wants her Authenticity to be magnetic to those who cannot see a way out. She’s a victim she’s a survivor. She’s a mother, daughter, and a friend.

Working as a Fibromyalgia Coach, I often have clients who have abuse as part of their story. Fibromyalgia has its roots in trauma: physical, emotional, and sexual. So much so that some researchers are exploring the incidence of abuse in fibromyalgia patients.

Emma Kate's book and message are so important. I am very thankful to have this resource to share with my clients. There's much I can teach on how to live with fibromyalgia... living as a survivor of abuse? That's Emma Kate's territory, and she does a magnificent job of providing a pathway out. She gives clear steps that can be taken -- both by the victims and those who love them -- to support and heal.

On her website, the author provides clarity with "10 Signs You Are In An Abusive Relationship." In short, she says, "The most telling sign that you are in an abusive relationship is if you are frightened of your partner, parent, child or sibling. If you feel as though you have to walk on eggshells around your partner and you are constantly watching what you say or do in order to avoid a confrontation." You could fee this way with a family member, a co-worker, even just a friend. It's worth it to know the signs, both for your own safety, and for those you love.

Thank you, Emma Kate, for your vulnerability and clarity.

I Can See No Way A Domestic Violence Survivor Memoir eBook Emma Kate Reviews

This has been very insightful and useful reading material. I highly recommend this book. If only this book would have been longer I likely would have given 5 stars.
Incredible writing. Heart wrenching, moving, amazing story displaying amazing strength and resilience. Emma Kate’s sincerity, openness, and honesty are beyond inspiring. The way she writes will have you completely captivated from start to finish. Incredibly well written and serves as a reminder that domestic violence and abuse can happen to anyone. The way the author recalls details and events, flashbacks and images from those moments reveals just how painful and lasting these scars are for a victim. This book ignites a fire that makes you want to join the movement to help victims of abuse. Highly recommend.
Emma Kate’s book is real. She offers a totally honest description of how domestic violence affected her life, beginning in childhood. Captivating… no doubt this woman is a gifted writer as well as a survivor!
As a person who has endured a violent marriage and domestic abuse, this book is profoundly impactful. Emma Kate encourages the reader to understand ourselves, but more importantly to forgive ourselves and become empowered to move forward. Her insights on the dynamics of emotional and physical abuse are spot on, and her advice for the survivor is timely and encouraging. While it may be difficult for the reader who is still healing to read through, the truths that Emma Kate will confront the reader with are valuable and insightful. For those who are still struggling with abuse, grappling with the scars (both seen and unseen) from domestic violence, this book is a must read.
This is such important information. For those who are in abusive situations, those who know someone who is and especially those who don't know if they are or aren't. Some times it's so hard to spot the ways that people are manipulated. It's not always visible bruises or black eyes. Sometimes is something so much deeper, amotional. This book gives a clear picture of what abuse looks like, and best of all it shows a way towards hope from someone who has lived it and has devoted her heart to making a change.
Emma Kate pierces the veil of silence around abuse by sharing her personal story. She hid behind a professional veneer for over 20 years, attempting to cover-up the very vulnerabilities that made her both strong and authentic. Until I became a life coach myself, I didn’t realize how prevalent abuse was in our relationships today and the long-term damage it causes to our souls. Kate’s message and her light has never been more needed.
"i can see no way" is a very important book in the field of domestic abuse. Emma Kate Lomax really gets into the heart of the complex issues that survivors face during the course of their lives. Her poignant stories are clear and compelling. She has taken her own processing and provided an invaluable resource for people or loved ones who have experienced abuse. Emma Kate speaks forth where others may fear to tread and more importantly shows a way for dignity and self-worth to emerge. I highly recommend this incredibly worthwhile book!
